Bartenders are the unsung heroes of community connection who serve as uniquely pivotal figures within the social and cultural ecosystem of their city. More than just drink slingers; bartenders are vital community connectors creating meaningful bonds with their guests. Stationed at the heart of social interaction, they foster a welcoming atmosphere of belonging around the bar where strangers can become acquaintances, friends and even chosen family. With a listening ear and friendly demeanor, bartenders are experts at reading the room, facilitating conversations and offering a “safe space” neutral ground for diverse individuals to connect. They help celebrate milestones, listen to stories, share laughs, provide meaningful space, and have their fingers on the local pulse of their local communities. Beyond simply pouring drinks, bartenders pour connections as they weave into the social fabric of their neighborhoods, one conversation at a time. To celebrate these special Bartender Bond builders, we have teamed up with Jack Daniel's Bonded Tennessee Whiskey to showcase Bartender Talents who embody the vital role of bond builders and community connectors. Let’s get Bonded by the Bar with Bartender Paris Jeffcoat of Atlanta, Georgia.

What would you say is your superpower as a Bartender that builds bonds with your guests and invites them to become your regulars?

My superpower is my presence and intuition. I read the room, match energy, and make people feel seen without forcing conversation. Regulars come back because they know that I remember the little things - how they like their drink, what they have been going through, or when they just need some space. It’s that consistency and emotional attentiveness that makes people feel safe and at home.

What makes your Bar a welcoming space for community in Atlanta to gather, meet up, make connections and build bonds?

We’ve created a space that feels like a vibe and a refuge all at once. It’s the kind of place you can come alone and still feel connected to community. Whether you're grabbing a drink, catching a DJ set, or just vibing out on the patio, you feel connected. We make it a point to know our guests names, remember their faces, and welcome everyone in like family. In a world where people are craving real connections, we’re proud to be that third space where community naturally forms.

How can the Bar Industry work together to create a welcoming bar culture that fosters a sense of belonging for every guest that comes in looking for community?

It starts with being intentional. Learning names, making eye contact, and showing real curiosity with our guests. Everyone plays a role in creating a space where people feel seen, especially in a time when so many feel disconnected. A quick, “how’s your week?” or remembering someone’s usual drink order goes a long way. When we lead with warmth, it invites guests to do the same. That’s how community forms.

Can you share a little backstory about your bond with the Regular guest who inspired your Bonded by the Bar cocktail?

My cocktail was inspired by my regular, Sheila. She always shares heartfelt stories about her family. One evening, she reminisced about a cherished tradition: planting a blood orange tree with her late husband and daughter. That story inspired my cocktail, which blends blood orange and vanilla. It's a tribute to enduring love and the bonds that tie us together, much like Sheila's stories that remind us of the warmth of family and community.

Which specific flavor notes in Jack Daniel's Bonded Tennessee Whiskey did  you highlight in your cocktail that was inspired by the bond with your favorite Regular?

With my Bonded by Blood cocktail, I wanted to bring out the warm vanilla, oak, and subtle spice in Jack Daniel’s Bonded Tennessee Whiskey. The blood orange and lemon add brightness and balance to the whiskey’s richness, while the vanilla softens the edges and ties into its natural sweetness. Angostura bitters layer in depth and complexity. And the edible glitter ... that’s just a little nod to celebration because bonding over a great drink should always feel a little magical.
