The Campbell Apartment is one of those iconic NYC places. 6. Mulled Mystic at Distilled NY
Who doesn’t love a nice hot mulled wine during the holidays? The spices – usually some blend of cinnamon and cloves – smell amazing and this beverage will warm you right up. Honestly, there is nothing better than a warm and creamy cup of piping hot chocolate in the winter. It keeps your hands and belly toasty – and the bourbon makes everything even better! Since opening up earlier this fall, Marc Forgione’s Tribeca steakhouse has been THE place to go for a serious steak and delicious cocktails. For the holiday season, we are loving the complimentary flavors of the Filthy Thyme Martini, made with Belvedere vodka, a sprig of thyme and cornichon-stuffed olives. Located just steps away from Andy Ricker’s already wildly popular Portland, Oregon-import Pok Pok Ny, Whiskey Soda Lounge Ny is one of those places that makes simple yet exciting cocktails that always hit the spot. A late-night Thai-influenced whiskey bar (many of the ingredients are things Ricker found while traveling around Asia) offering the spirit either neat or on the rocks (yep, simple yet perfect) as well as an inventive cocktail program including our favorite: the Lord Bergrmot. Long before every single bar and restaurant in NYC had a mixology program, there was Employees Only. This West Village clubhouse of a bar has been serving up the best of the best cocktails for years and never disappoints. 12. A.F. Rapoport Hot Buttered Rum at Joseph Leonard
Nothing says Christmas cocktail quite like a Hot Buttered Rum. And the Joseph Leonard version – developed by local customer Andy Rapoport (his brother Adam is the editor of Bon Appetit) – features a delicious blend of Sailor Jerry rum, hot water and a spiced butter mix to warm the body and soul.
