Every first week of December, Art Basel Miami takes over the Miami Beach Convention Center, while satellite shows and special events spread out over the rest of the Magic City. This favorite annual winter meeting place for the international art world also draws A-List celebrities, cultural icons and art lovers.
On December 7–10, the 16th edition of Art Basel Miami will host special curated programs, late-night parties, and cutting-edge art from artists and galleries from around the global. We’ve put together a few of the best satellite art shows and special events, plus the perfect cocktail destinations for thirsty art-lovers needing a break between Art Basel Miami events:

SCOPE MIAMI BEACH FAIR
The 17th edition of SCOPE Miami Beach returns with 140 International Exhibitors from 25 countries and 60 cities. Special Programs include a collaboration with The Melech Collection, launched by six-time NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire, to feature a site-specific work by emerging Brooklyn artist Steven Cogle, and the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Artisan Series competition for up-and-coming North American artists, where the grand prize winner will collaborate with Artsy on a public installation in New York City. RED DOT & SPECTRUM MIAMI FAIR
Highlights from these established as sister art shows, Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami, include the Art Lab by Sculptor, -James West of Studio Wild West celebrates the natural world with Our Path, -a monumental, contemporary outdoor sculpture delicately laced with intricate laser carvings; a second featured Art Lab installation, A Walk in the Clouds – an elaborate sensory experience featuring approximately 2000 freshly cut flowers of multiple colors that will form a circular arena-like structure – each suspended from the ceiling; and daily live demonstrations, such as artist Trina Merry creating one of her live camouflage body paintings.

Art Loves Fashion will feature live musical acts, performance art by modern artist Eddy Bogeart, Deko Eyewear artist Antonio Rubalcava, and Wynwood artist and gallery owner, Fer Sucre. Restaurant tastings will be provided by Steak Brasil, Tapelia Paella and Freddo ice cream, beverages by LaCroix Sparkling Water, and cocktails sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, and Whispering Angel Rose.

ART BASEL TENT AT THE NAUTILUS SOUTH BEACH
Artist Kelsey Montague partners up with Gran Centenario Tequila to showcase a white and gold angel wings mural, which will be auctioned off for proceeds to benefit Mexican Relief charities. For every picture posted to the hashtag, Gran Centenario will donate $10 to charity to benefit families and victims of the earthquake in Mexico City. Expected celebrity guest isEva Longoria.

ATOMIK + DUVEL ART GLASS LAUNCH PARTY AT BAR COLLINS
Duvel debuts its limited edition art glass, in partnership with Miami’s own legendary graffiti artist Atomik Secure your glass and watch Atomik paint his signature orange live, while DJ Rage Johnson provides the evening’s soundtrack. The Duvel + Atomik art glass will be exclusively available at this launch event, which features Duvel beers on tap, the live painting by Atomik and signature bites from Bar Collins.

LIVE PAINTING SHOW & MACALLAN POP-UP AT NAIYARA
During NaiYaRa’s Friday dinner service, the restaurant and bar will double as a gallery by showcasing the works of infamous South American street artist Herbert Galarza. The artist, widely recognized for his Graffiti-pop style that infuses messages about society and culture, will be onsite painting live. In addition, there will be a Macallan Scotch pop-up shop where guest can order Macallan pours during this exclusive, one-night-only event.
