Can’t make it to Guatemala? Just come to the Upper East side!
Starting next week, the Upper East Side will be graced with a new, temporary mezcal den, Bar Ilegal.
From Tuesday January 13th to Saturday January 24th, the former Jbird Cocktails space will be transformed into a New York outpost of Ilegal Mezcal’s Guatemalan home Cafe No Sé. For 12 nights only, guests can sip Ilegal Mezcal, a selection of wild agave Mezcals, infused medicinal mezcals, and Mexican beer, all ranging from $6-$12. A late night food menu will exclusively feature authentic Mexican tamales, which will be homemade nightly.
The pop up will also feature live musical performance to be announced online and via social media and guest bartenders, including John Rexer (Ilegal Mezcal Owner), Ivy Mix (A Cafe No Sé original bartender, Speed Rack), Danny Mena (owner of Mezcales de Leyenda), Josh Mazza (The Gilroy), Steve Laycock (Ducks, The Gilroy), and more!
