Bartender Boxing with Tequila CAZADORES: Houston vs LA

With putting in long hours of shaking behind the stick, many bartenders have developed some serious muscles. Tequila CAZADORES took notice and partnered with The Bartender Boxing Organization (“BBO”) to present an epic rumble in the jungle – or bayou – during Tales of the Cocktail.

Houston vs Los Angeles Bartender Boxing

Tequila CAZADORES took over Republic for a night of Bartender Boxing Matches with competitors from Los Angeles and Houston. After all the jabs and uppercuts were thrown…

Winners

  • Chris Amirault from Otium Bar in Los Angeles
  • Mitch Bushell of Gwen Bar in Los Angeles
  • Matt Nicchitta of Big Bar in Los Angeles
  • Jess Householder of Prohibition Bar in Houston

These bartenders represented their cities after intensive coaching from boxing experts, adhering to a grueling training and exercise routines. They were also rewarded with a special immersive educational trip the Tequila CAZADORES Distillery to experience the legacy of the brand. As the hospitality world can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle for even the best of heart, we do live and work around food and drink, kudos to Tequila CAZADORES for bringing both physical and mental strength to the forefront.

Manny Hinojosa, Brand Ambassador of Tequila CAZADORES, explains, “Tequila CAZADAORES partnered with The Bartender Boxing Organization as we recognized a need for our industry to take long-term health and wellness more seriously as part of leading a healthier lifestyle. Late nights and temptation can often lead to unbalanced lifestyles, so we wanted to bring health top of mind for people in our industry.

Frankly, there is no other sport that compares to the level of intensity, conditioning that boxing requires, I mean this stuff is hard. To be good, you need to sleep, eat and train properly. At Tequila CAZADORES, we have always had a fighting spirit, and have been associated with fight sports for some time now.  Tales of the Cocktail is the biggest cocktail event in the world, and to have it host the final match for all those bartender/fighters that won in their own cities made it a total success.”

Looking forward to seeing the NYC versus Chicago finals in New York on November 1st!
