Bartender’s Weekend 2022 Is BACK – Chris Patino & Erick Castro Talk The 7th Anniversary

Bartender’s Weekend is BACK for 2022! Bartender’s Weekend returns live and in-person to sunny San Diego March 20 – 22, 2022.  Organized by industry luminaries, Chris Patino and Erick Castro, in an effort to promote the “spirit of hospitality” that they feel truly defines the industry.

By centering Bartender’s Weekend around community and networking, their ultimate goal is to bring all aspects of the drinks industry together and allow the opportunity for everyone to interact in a positive manner and on an equal footing. As Castro describes, “Bartender’s Weekend is the perfect way to bring the entire bar community together over drinks, all while celebrating San Diego’s burgeoning cocktail scene. Plus it will give you a little taste of the California way of life of; sunshine and good times.”

This year, Bartender’s Weekend has teamed up for its return to live in-person events with Lush Life and Another Round Another Rally.  For more information and registration, visit bartendersweekend.com, and keep reading for more from Chris Patino about Bartender’s Weekend 2022.

A little more about Bartender’s Weekend

At its core, Bartender’s Weekend is a bonafide networking event. With that being said, I think that I am most excited just to see everyone in person again. Since our industry thrives on human interaction, I feel like the lack of interpersonal communication brought on by the pandemic has, in a way, caused fractures amongst our ranks. Now is the time to come together as a group, so that we can focus on healing our community, while rebuilding in a more thoughtful and inclusive way. And while Bartender’s Weekend is a great place to escape and blow off some steam, we pride ourselves on being community driven, with the betterment of the spirits and hospitality industry being the core foundation of our mission.
About Lushlife’s Involvement
The 7th annual Bartender’s Weekend almost didn’t happen. Coming up on what would have been our 9th year (if it weren’t for covid), I wasn’t sure if I would be able to continue organizing Bartender’s Weekend, especially given my current battle with pancreatic cancer. A decision that was weighing heavily on me knowing how much this event has meant to the bartending community, especially here in San Diego. However, my decision was made easier when Lindsey Johnson from Lush Life reached out and volunteered her services to help keep the event alive. In my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined the level of encouragement and support that Lindsey and her team have been able to provide so far, and I can honestly say that I couldn’t do it without them. That being said, you can expect big things at Bartender’s Weekend this year now that the amazing team at Lush Life is involved.
Lastly, it goes without saying that charity has always been a big part of Bartender’s Weekend. That being said, we are happy to announce that this year we will be donating 100% of all ticket sales directly to Another Round Another Rally, a non profit financial resource for the hospitality industry that provides scholarships, develops future leaders and supplies emergency assistance to members of the service and hospitality community.

PLEASE NOTE:  Proof of Covid vaccination will be required to attend Bartender’s Weekend.
