New Beer Alert at L’Apicio, Burgers and Bourbon and Boozy Brunch at the Beach

Fresh Brews

It’s springtime in the city and there’s a new beer menu at L’Apicio. The East Village eatery is now offering a selection of domestic beers including Cambridge “Remain in Light” Hoppy Pilsner, Montauk “Session” IPA, Half Acre “Gone Away,” Baxter “Window Seat” Coconut and Almond Porter and more. The brews are all served in cans instead of glass bottles to help preserve the freshness. Go now and try them all.

Boozy Brunch at the Beach

There’s a new brunch in town – at the newly opened Pizza Beach LES! Starting this weekend, every Saturday from 12-4pm, Pizza Beach is serving up delicious breakfast pies including Bacon, Egg and Cheese Pizza, Avocado Pizza, Lox & Cream Cheese Pizza and Truffled Egg Pizza, plus other dishes like Eggs in Purgatory, Meatball Grinder and Bacon Egg & Cheese on Ciabatta. Thirsty? The brunch will also feature fun cocktails (which can also be ordered in a pitcher size) like the Spicy Maria using jalapeño infused tequila instead of vodka, Flying Wasp, Beach Juice, or the Spiciest Margarita.

Country Music & Mimosas at Libation

Giddy up cowboys! The folks at Libation, one of the most fun boozy brunch spots, are throwing a Country Music & Mimosas brunch this Sunday, April 10th, presented by @NYCOUNTRYSWAG. Doors open at noon spinning all your favorite country hits with a special acoustic performance by Carter Winter.  There will also be a photobooth, raffles, ticket giveaways and more! Tickets are  available  here.

Burgers and Bourbon

To celebrate National Hamburger Month, Schweid & Sons is hosting “NYC Burger Week” from May 1 through 7, featuring nightly events for meat lovers. But we will be going for the booze! Check out the Boozy Burger Brunch at Beer Culture (Sunday, May 1), the Willy Wonka-themed dinner with cocktails at Joe’s Bar NYC (Monday, May 2), the “Bourbon and Beer night” at The Ainsworth Midtown (Wednesday, May 4) and more. Tickets and more information available here.

Spring Sips

Once the weather finally gets nice, we will literally be drinking rosé all day, every day. And now we have a place to do it. The Vine will introduce a “Rosé All Day” menu each Monday this month, filled with a variety of options for all pinkish wine devotees. Selections include Pinot Nero ‘Margherita’ Frecciarossa 2014 and Château d’Eclans Rose Whispering Angel 2015. After all that drinking, indulge in a meal from Chef Laurent Tourondel on The Vine’s outdoor patio. See you there!

Happy Hour Alert

Arlington Club is now offering a weekday Happy Hour for the Upper East Side, featuring $6 beer, $7 wine and Prosecco by the glass, and $9 cocktails, from 4-7pm on Monday through Friday. Also; $1 shrimp cocktail, oysters and clams on the half shell.

Wine Not

The Long Island Wine Council has launched a “Created with Character” initiative, to help spotlight the quality wines of the East End, and will be hosting events to help spread the word. Launched last month, the LIWC is planning a series of “Somms in the City” tastings, featuring up-and-coming NYC sommeliers who have championed Long Island Wines and East End immersion trips for somms all around NYC. More informations about the LIWC and the upcoming events can be found here.
