Diamonds are Forever: Blinged-Out Barspoons

Bartenders around the world know that the right bar tools are essential to deliver the very best cocktails to their guests. Just like high fashion, bar tools can give a bartender serious swagger and evoke “bar tool envy” (yup, that’s a thing).

We recently headed to Mace to meet with Greg Boehm, owner and founder of Cocktail Kingdom, and got to experience whole new level of serious haute couture bar tools with their new Reserve Collection of high-end barware.

Although we were truly impressed by all of these truly exquisite pieces, the real showstopper was their Black Diamond Barspoon that is totally blinged out and fit for royalty, or perhaps, Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Handcrafted in Tokyo from solid pure silver, the Japanese artisan individually hand-twists each spoon. It is then carefully encrusted with 15 black diamonds and the tip is crowned with a large Swarovksi Crystal.  The entire process takes an entire month to perfectly customize each piece, which is why there are currently only 4 in existence.

Greg says of the sparkler, “I dream of making a Manhattan with the barspoon, using the absolute best rye and vermouth I could find. The balance of the spoon is excellent. You could even use it on a Saturday night at a busy cocktail bar, although I wouldn’t.”

Of course, the price of this ornate bar prize is for the Rich & Famous only at $2,750 (in our best Robin Leach voice)  but if you need a gift for a diamond loving bar aficionado and have some holiday bonus to burn, this is what we would get.

In addition to the Black Diamond Barspoon, The Cocktail Kingdom Reserve Collection consists of:
