Drink This Now: Bloodlust Cocktail From The Black Lagoon Pop-Up In Toronto

The Black Lagoon Pop-Up is a Toronto based spooky season cocktail experience from the dark and brilliant minds of Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes. After having cooked up their first pop-up of it’s kind at the renowned Dungeon, New Orleans in 2019, they decided that it needed to be bigger, creepier and louder than ever. From now through October 31st aka All Hallows Eve, The Black Lagoon Pop-Up will serve up a mixture of magical, metal and massive amounts of fun.  And banging spooky cocktails of course because it is Kelsey and Erin.

One of the featured creepy cocktails is the Bloodlust cocktail. This beauty combines local haskap berries with Botanist gin & amaro to create an earthy apothecary-style sour. ⁠

Bloodlust Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Botanist Gin
  • .5 oz Amaro Lucano
  • .75 Haskap Honey*
  • .75 fresh lemon juice
  • Egg white
*Haskap Honey (qty yields 1 liter) – 500 gHoney, 500 g Haskaps,100 g Water
(Haskaps are local berries in Ontario that have a flavor profile similar to a cross between a cranberry & blackberry. Feel free to experiment with whatever berries are local and in season to make your own seasonal variation of Bloodlust.)
