Brunch With Billie Kicks Off at SUR in West Hollywood

For over a decade, SUR has reigned supreme on Robertson as the hottest spot in West Hollywood. Lisa Vanderpump’s Sexy Unique Restaurant has since skyrocketed in popularity thanks to the owner’s appearance on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and then it’s own spin-off “Vanderpump Rules.”

Up until recently, you had to wait until the evening hours to get your SUR swagger on, but enter hostess and new “Vanderpump Rules” cast member Billie Lee. The stunningly gorgeous transgender woman, who started at SUR about a year ago, had the genius idea of transforming the restaurant into L.A.’s hottest day-time dance party, and just like that, Brunch With Billie was born.

“I’ve always loved brunch,” says Lee.  “I was working on a podcast called Brunch with Billie at the time and we decided to take the idea and run with it at SUR.”

Joined by her fellow SURvers, Lee throws the ultimate party brunch on Sundays where fans of the show can meet n’ greet with the cast, sip on SUR’s famous signature cocktails like Pump-tinis and dance to the beats of a live D.J.

“I like to be fancy and I want people to dress up so it’s an entire experience,” says Lee. “I like to go all out and over the top for brunch and that was perfect SUR.”

This Memorial Day weekend, Billie will be joined by special guest bartender and “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Tom Sandavol plus performer and SUR staffer Jesse Montana.

“I’m planning on bringing a lot of color and energy to my performance,” says Montana. “I’ll be performing my single ‘Colors’ off my sophomore E.P. which James Kennedy remixed. All my shows are high energy, colorful, creative, and have a lot of love and passion and I want to bring that to brunch as a full immersive experience.”

On the menu, you’ll find a range of light bites and savory specials such as Grapefruit Arugula Salad, Avocado Toast, Frittata Omelet and  Blue Cheese Burger. And what’s a brunch party without the booze?

“I’ll definitely be making some Pump-tinis and then I want to do something special for the brunch,” says Sandoval, who is currently working with Vanderpump on their new bar Tom Tom. “I’ll probably do something light maybe with citrus, something fizzy, something chill. I want guests to be able to have more than a few and not have to be peeled off the floor. Of course, we will have the SUR signature mimosas too.

In addition to the menu changing up for brunch, the ambience and energy of brunch totally shifts. While nighttime SUR is low-lit and seductive, during the day, it’s much more relaxed, more fun and all about the sunlight.

“It’s all about the Vitamin D baby,” says Montana.

But no matter what time of day, the heart and soul of SUR will always be the staff.

“They all accepted me with open arms,” says Lee. “ I love my friends and they were all willing to help when I told them about my Brunch With Billie idea. It’s really a family.”

“I think why the show has done so well and why SUR continues to do so well is that we are all so close and there is a lot of love here. Before the show, SUR’s was more private and secluded and now we have celebrities and fans coming in just to see us. And it’s so much fun.”
