From November to mid-January, it is Coquito season in Puerto Rico and around the diaspora for Boricuas. This creamy rum infused holiday drink has become a favorite for the season and its popularity has been soaring as interest in rum and all things Puerto Rican (hola Bad Bunny) and Latinx culture has been on the rise. To bring a little taste of the holidays in Puerto Rico to those who are unable to travel this year and staying safely at home, the legendary Caribe Hilton recently launched a really fun initiative teaming up with local NYC small business Coquito NYC.
Puerto Rico’s iconic Caribe Hilton, birthplace of the original Piña Colada and Coquito NYC, have teamed up to offer piña colada-inspired ‘coquito-grams’ that can be sent to loved ones to toast to the holidays.
Throughout the month of December, the ‘coquito-grams’ will be available for purchase online at Coquito-NYC.com. These DIY kits can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. and come with all the ingredients needed to make a piña-inspired twist on classic Puerto Rican coquito – sans the eggs & rum. For New Yorkers: pre-batched Piña Colada-flavored coquito will also be available for purchase online with delivery within the five boroughs.
