The union of Irish Whiskey and Coffee has a long storied history in cocktail culture. In celebration of this classic combination, Slane Irish Whiskey is teaming up with Metropolis Coffee Company to uncover Chicago’s best Irish Coffee cocktail in the Irish Coffee Showdown. Bartenders and baristas in the Chicago area are invited to team up and craft their original Irish Coffee cocktail recipes using Slane Irish Whiskey for the chance to win cash, prizes, and the title for Chicago’s Best Irish Coffee! The online cocktail recipe submission period starts on September 9th and stays open through November 17th, 2019.
After the submission period, online voting will immediately be open to the public starting November 17th, 2019 through January 15th, 2020 and prizes will be awarded to the three most popular cocktails. For the next round, eight teams will be selected from online submissions to compete at the LIVE finals at Metropolis Coffee Company on January 23rd, 2020 where the grand prize winning Irish Coffee cocktail will be determined by an expert panel of judges.
