The Bassment is a speakeasy-style, live music lounge in downtown Chicago’s River North neighborhood. In honor of Hollywood actor George Clooney’s recent May 6th birthday, the Bassment’s innovative cocktail program has concocted a tequila-based cocktail made with an ice cube that features the leading man’s timelessly handsome face.
This boozy sipper boasts a base of Casamigos Reposado – Clooney founded the brand with buddy Rande Gerber before selling it for a whopping billion dollars in 2017 – mixed with sweet vermouth and Creme De Banana, for a sweet yet boldly flavored cocktail.
“We wanted to create a cocktail that was more of an experience than a standard classic cocktail, and that pays homage to the man responsible for creating one of the smoothest and best-tasting tequilas, George Clooney,” shares Brandon Spann, bartender extraordinaire at Chicago’s Bassment.

- 1.5 oz Casamigos Reposado Tequila
- .5 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
- .5 oz Creme De Banana Liqueur
- .75 oz Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup
- 2 dashes of Honeyed Apricot & Smoked Hickory Bitters
