Sure, it’s freezing out and winter has definitely arrived. But that doesn’t mean we can’t drink delicious summer-inspired cocktails, right? Enter Lalo, the new Mexican-inspired spot in Chinatown, with drinks designed by Mission Chinese alum Anna Morris. The vibe is chill and the Coming Soon cocktail gives us all the summer feels. Featuring a mix of rum, coconut, pineapple and dragonfruit, it’s the perfect concoction to get your mind off the freezing cold temps hitting NYC.

Drink of the Week Lalo Bar Coming Soon

Coming Soon at Lalo Ingredients and Recipe:

*serves 4-5

(to make the white base)

  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • .5 cup white rum
  • zest of one lime
  • Blend, set aside

(to make the pink swirl)

  • quarter of a pink pitaya or dragonfruit
  • .5 cup coconut milk
  • .5 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 oz Lemon Hart & Sons 151 rum
  • Blend, set aside

(to make garnish)

  • Use a melon baller to carve small balls out of the dragonfruit

Shake 4 ounces of the white base; pour with the ice into a tall glass.
Top with pink mix. Lightly swirl for an ombre effect.
Garnish with a skewered dragon fruit ball and a crazy straw.
