With an unobstructed view of South Beach from The Miami Beach Edition Hotel, the Matador Bar is the glamorous bar that fronts Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s supper club-like restaurant, the Matador Room. Matador Bar’s newest luxurious cocktail experience is a tropical, -and sharable, punch drink.
The Confession of Love Punch is served in a flamingo-shaped punch bowl, which serves six to eight guests, or, 12 glasses per flamingo. Absolut Elyx vodka and Luxardo Maraschino liqueur with passion fruit, hibiscus and lemon are blended to create the cocktail’s beautiful fuchsia color, then, garnished with orchid flowers and dried pineapple.
“I wanted to make a great refreshing drink using one of my favorite ingredients, hibiscus, it has a great acidity which marries perfectly with the sweetness of the passion fruit & the maraschino liqueur. The character of the vodka adds that kick to make it a perfectly balanced and refreshing cocktail.”, shares creator Kip Byrne, the Matador Bar’s mixologist.
Confession of Love Punch Recipe & Preparation
- 500ML Absolut Elyx Vodka
- 500ML Hibiscus Syrup
- 50ML Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
- 250ML Passion Fruit Syrup
- 100ML Fresh Lemon Juice
Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl with ice and stir. Garnish with edible flowers, such as orchids, and dehydrated pineapple slices.
