This year, we are feeling super lucky because the legend Silvia Santiago, Senior Vice President Manufacturing & Rum Master Blender at Destilería Serralles, is sharing her personal recipe. Puerto Rico is known for having the longest Christmas season in the world and it isn’t Navidad (Christmas) without Coquito! Every family has a different recipe, heck even in a family, often different people have VERY different recipes.
Silvia Santiago’s Recipe
- 1 Cup of Coconut Milk
- 4 Egg Yolks
- 1/2 Cup of Sugar
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 Can (8oz) Evaporated Milk
- 1 Can (8oz) Condensed Milk
- 1 1/2 Cup of Don Q Gran Reserva 7 Rum
Blend all and put in an empty Don Q bottle and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
