This year, we are feeling super lucky because the legend Silvia Santiago, Senior Vice President Manufacturing & Rum Master Blender at Destilería Serralles, is sharing her personal recipe. Which for Puerto Ricans is a BIG DEAL! So enjoy and make sure to make extra to give out to family and friends because that is the Boricua way. Puerto Rico is known for having the longest Christmas season in the world and it isn’t Navidad (Christmas) without Coquito! Every family has a different recipe, heck even in a family, often different people have VERY different recipes.
- 1 Cup of Coconut Milk
- 4 Egg Yolks
- 1/2 Cup of Sugar
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 Can (8oz) Evaporated Milk
- 1 Can (8oz) Condensed Milk
- 1 1/2 Cup of Don Q Gran Reserva 7 Rum
Blend all and put in an empty Don Q bottle and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
