Celebrate National Daiquiri Day (Wednesday, July 19th) at BlackTail where you can choose from a few different variations on this classic including banana, strawberry, and pineapple in addition to the original daiquiri. These flavor variations are created by doing fruit sous vide infusions of the Rum blend and cane sugar.
The Daiquiri at BlackTail has gone through approximately 20 different white rum blends and another 30 or so iterations of ingredient balance until Jack McGarry, Jillian Vose, and Jesse Vida came to an agreement on the recipe. The Daiquiri at BlackTail uses a house “Cuban” Rum blend that was created by McGarry, Vose, and Vida to represent Cuban rums of old.
Daiquiri at BlackTail Recipe:
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz cane syrup
- 2.5 oz Cuban blend
“Cuban” Rum Blend
Caña Brava 3, Plantation 3 Star, Barbancourt White, El Dorado 3 Year
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
