The Freud is now open in Greenwich Village, and we are diggin’ on the cocktails, including this week’s Drink of the Week: the Déjá Raconté. Made with peach rooibos tea-infused bourbon, lemon, simple syrup and a dash of orange bitters, the Déjá Raconté has got us dreaming of spring drinking.
The Déja Raconté at The Freud
- 2 oz peach rooibos tea-infused bourbon
- 0.75 oz lemon
- 0.75 simple syrup
- Dash of orange bitters
Shake, add club soda, strain into highball glass. Orange peel Garnish.

The Freud is a new restaurant featuring Austrian fare from Michelin-starred chef Eduard Frauneder of the East Village’s Austrian tavern Edi & the Wolf and sister cocktail bar The Third Man.
The beverage program features a wine list focused on natural, organic and biodynamic wines with an emphasis on Central Europe, while the beer list echoes this region with a wide variety on tap such as Radeberger Pilsner, Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen and Braufactum Progusta (Session IPA).
Seasonal sips include The Slip with Zubrowka Vodka, Lime Juice, Egg White, Simple Syrup and Orange Bitters; theLibido with Tequila, Lime Juice, Honey-Jalapeño Syrup, Turmeric Juice and Thai Basil; and the Taboo with Rye, Carpano Antica, Walnut Liqueur, Maple, Orange and Walnut Bitters.
