What to Drink at Matador Bar this Miami Summer

It’s a chic Miami spot and now, there is a new summer cocktail list to check out. The black walnut-paneled Matador Bar dominates the entrance of Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Matador Room, in the Edition Hotel Miami Beach. At the solid walnut floating bar at the center of the room, or in the lounge at a banquette covered in soft jewel-toned velvet, enjoy cocktails crafted by the Matador Bar’s tenured barmen with fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.

Oaxaca Sour

Oaxaca Sour at Matador Bar

Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Lemon, Basil, and Egg White. Shaken, and poured into Martini glass with basil leaf garnish.

Copper Cup #4

Copper Cup #4 at Matador Bar

Elyx Vodka, Lemon, Ginger, Hibiscus & Elderflower Liqueror.  Served in a copper cup over crushed ice, and garnished with orchid flower and fresh ginger.

The Pineapple

The Pineapple at Matador Bar

Elyx Vodka, Oloroso Sherry, Salted Carmel Syrup, Elemakule Bitters, Pineapple, Lemon and Rosemary, served in signature pineapple cup.

Blood & Sand

Chivas Extra Scotch, Sweet Vermouth, Cherry Heering liqueur and Orange.  Shaken, and poured into Martini with cherry as garnish.

Bobby Burns

Glenmorangie 10 Yr Scotch, Sweet Vermouth and Benedictine, poured over a big rock of ice with a lemon twist.

Jungle Bird

Flor de Cana 7 Yr Rum, Campari, Lime and Pineapple.  Served tall in crystal cut glass, on the rocks with skewered pineapple chunks as garnish.

Vieux Carre

High West Double Rye Whiskey, Hennessy VSOP, Sweet Vermouth, Benedictine, Angostura and Peychaudes Bitters, poured over a big rock of ice with a lemon twist.

Pineapples & Pizza‘ Party:  A delicious summertime monthly series held every 3rd Thursday, 9-11PM, at the bar. The party features their signature The Pineapple cocktail (mentioned above), rotating off-the-menu specialty pizzas – such as Seared Ahi Tuna Wasabi Pizza, and live music for $35.
