Puerto Ricans take La Navidad aka Christmas very seriously and it is well known that Puerto Ricans have the longest Christmas in the world. I follow a LOT of bartenders around the world, always keeping a close eye on the Boricua bartender community, and when I saw Miguel Martinez of La Enoteca post a new cocktail he created inspired by tembleque … I stopped scrolling with intrigue. Tembleque, if you aren’t familiar, is a coconut dessert pudding from Puerto Rico and (yes, I might be biased) it is a banger! So if you are looking for another coconut flavored Puerto Rican inspired drink other than Coquito, look no further than the Cultura cocktail.
I asked Miguel about his Cultura cocktail and he shared, “It is a tribute to family and Puerto Rican culture. There wasn’t a Christmas party in my grandmother’s house without dessert, working in the industry can some times limit family time, so I wanted to create a cocktail to pay tribute to my family’s Christmas celebrations.” And luckily, sharing is caring and he shared his Cultura recipe with us.

- 2oz – Toasted Coconut Horchata
