Black Magic at Hunt Room at The Cavalier Virginia Beach

An historic social lounge in Virginia Beach, the Hunt Room is an intimate tavern tucked away in the heart of The Cavalier Hotel.  Though its modern style, the Hunt Room’s same fabled hearth rooms and Southern charm remain to invite guests to gather by the fire and sip bourbon -as well as hand-crafted cocktails, beers and wines.

“This drink will bring out the werewolf in anyone,” jokes the spooky drink’s creator, Hunt Room bartender Matt Sopata. “It uses the adjacent distillery’s Tarnished Truth ‘Ghost’ Bourbon Mash Moonshine. But any moonshine will do.”

Black Magic Cocktail Recipe

• 1.5 oz Plantation Pineapple Rum
• .75 oz Jagermeister
• .5 oz Tarnished Truth Bourbon Mash Moonshine
• .5 oz fresh lime juice
• .25 oz demerara
• 1 dash ginger bitters
• 1 dash of charcoal powder

Topped with fresh whipped cream and orange zest.
