Chicken Soup Hot Toddy at NYC’s JIMMY at The James

Let’s face it: the holiday season can be rough, and it takes a lot out of us all. And while some embark on a month-long detox and take on “Dry January,” there is another option to help reboot your system: the Chicken Soup Hot Toddy at rooftop bar JIMMY at The James in NYC.

For the month of January, the cold weather antidote will be available to help stave off the cold and flu season. Created by co-woener and mixologist Johnny Swet with gin, celery bitters, chicken stock and lemon juice, this cozy cocktail is a winter weather must.

“New York gets cold in the winter, especially in January and February when the holidays have passed and summer is still nowhere in sight,” explains Swet. “I was inspired to create the Chicken Soup Hot Toddy as a way to combat the dreary weather and add some unexpected fun to the traditional hot toddy. The reason this drink works so well is the herbaceous undertones of the gin. It’s reminiscent of the herbs that go into poultry seasoning, making it a great match for the chicken broth.”

Chicken Soup Hot Toddy recipe and preparation

  • 1 oz Nolet’s Gin
  • 1 dash Celery Bitters
  • .25 Lemon Juice
  • 4 oz Hot Chicken Broth
  • 1 carrot stick
  • 1 celery stick
