The holiday season is in full effect, and what better way to celebrate than with a festive cocktail? At Mortar & Pestle in San Jose, California, the Land of Milk & Honey is a riff on seasonal egg nog, made with ginger tea-infused vodka, orange liqueur, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, honey, and bitters.
But this creative cocktail really takes things to the next level, thanks to a blend of unexpected ingredients.
“The cocktail name, Land of Milk & Honey, is representative of a place full of comfort and luxury which I think, texturally, this cocktail delivers,” explains Nick Kosevich, Bar Consultant for Mortar & Pestle. “Because we use Greek yogurt, you get a drier finish than with heavy cream. The additional acids coming from the yogurt lend to layered flavor profiles from the other ingredients in the cocktail and creates a drink that is quite balanced.”
A happy holiday indeed.
