At Bittercube Bar & Bazaar in Milwaukee, it’s all about the bitters. This newly opened “apothecary, bar and barman’s store” features a serious selection of the botanicals as well as a creative cocktail list with cocktails like the Season 1 Boulevardier.
Bittercube’s version of the classic is made with bourbon, Cocchi Americano Rosa, Amaro Meletti, and Bittercube orange bitters – and should be in your holiday sip list.
“Classically, this bittersweet drink is comprised of Bourbon or rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Campari,” explains Bittercube’s Brandon Reyes. “Our take on it this season is a more spiced variation making it a great holiday sipper.”
The cocktails, says Reyes “incorporates a Bourbon with a high-rye mash bill, Cocchi Americano Rosa, Amaro Meletti and Bittercube Orange Bitters. Meletti offers herbaceousness with a hint of cola, Cocchi Rosa lends a gentian forward bitterness and notes of strawberry, while orange bitters sharpens things up. We’ve dressed ours up with a bronzed chocolate spoon full of strawberry bursting boba, but this drink is perfect served with an expression of orange oil.”
