Drink This Now: Whisky Tango Foxtrot at Scottsdale’s Volanti

At Scottsdale restaurant Volanti, the dishes and drinks are the main focus – but the airport backdrop can’t be ignored. Case in point: the Whisky Tango Foxtrot cocktail at the restaurant (located at Scottsdale Airpark), which pays homage to the aviation lingo used by air traffic control. Made with Scotchdale whisky, simple syrup and strawberry jam, the Whisky Tango Foxtrot is light and refreshing but with a strong whisky base.

“The Whisky Tango Foxtrot truly is one of the most unique Scotch Whisky cocktails we have at Volanti and the name goes perfectly with our atmosphere here since we’re in the Scottsdale Airpark,” says Volanti’s Stephanie LeClaire. “The ingredient that separates it from all the rest is the strawberry jam which goes absolutely perfectly with the hints of honey and caramel in the Scotchdale liquor.”

LeClaire adds: “It’s not too sweet to where you can only have one or two Whisky Tango Foxtrots. It’s definitely one of the most balanced and luscious cocktails we’ve ever had. And it’s served over cursed ice, therefore, it’s very refreshing on a warm day or night, and it comes in a wine glass and who doesn’t like drinking cocktails out of wine glasses with a strawberry wedge!? So not only were we impressed with the flavor of this drink, but the presentation is phenomenal too.
