There isn’t much better than having a cocktail or five on the water when the weather goes above 90 degrees. Everyone knows that the only thing better than drinking on a rooftop bar is cocktails on the water.
Uptown
Boat Basin Café
If you are looking for a dog-friendly bar with casual food like burgers and on the weekend they have some specials from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you are going to drink, they do buckets of beer. If it gets too hot they have an indoor bar so win/win.

Pier i Café
The Pier I Cafe bar has sangria and a number of frozen drinks and a ton of beers on tap. Did we mention that everything can also be ordered by the pitcher?

La Marina
This bar is at the end of Riverside Drive but they are right on the water with a massive events space that covers more than 75,000 square feet. If you are heading up there to take in a sunset they have happy hour Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. They are open M-F 4pm to 12am and Saturday and Sunday 12pm to 12am.

The Frying Pan
This is one of the best places in NYC to drink on the water. They have decent cocktails, pitchers of sangria, and a bunch of red and white wines that will go along with their lobster rolls or possibly a cheeseburger.
Pier 66 at W. 26th St
Riverpark
This Tom Colicchio restaurant have a number of specialty cocktails for you to choose from Acton Bell, (made with Cimarron tequila, charred pineapple, bauchant orange liqueur and Jalapeño) or the Mark Twain (House-infused Lavender Vodka, Creme de Menthe, White Creme de Cacao.) They serve lunch from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm and dinner.

The Water Club serves classic American Cuisine that will go great with their classic cocktails like the French 75, Hemingway’s Daiquiri, or a Negroni.

They serve seasonal oysters and nautically inspired cocktails like the Capacity with Rum, Lemon Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, Cointreau, Bitters, Scorpion Pepper, Cynar and Edible Marigold. They also have an incredible selection of sustainably farmed oysters.
Watermark Bar
This casual open-air spot along the East River has badass Brooklyn Bridge views and a menu that their Watermark classics like a mojito, watermelon spiced margarita or you can opt for their spiked lemonade by the glass ($13) or by the pitcher ($65), you can also add some flavor for $5 per pitcher (Strawberry, Pink Guava, Kiwi, blood orange or sour cherry.)
You can also order beer by the bucket, sangria and a selection of different flavored margaritas.

Pier A Harbor House
This converted historic landmark has views of the Statue of Liberty and a number of specialty drinks including a dark & stormy and Pimm’s Cupp on tap. They also have 14 draught beers and a number of beers in the can. If you are looking for food they have an extensive seafood menu including a great raw bar, fish and chips or the Maine Lobster Boil with Clams, Mussels, potato, sausage, and corn.

This casual, family-friendly spot serves up classic American cuisine with a large drink menu that includes flavored lemonades, beer, wine and a bunch of specialty cocktails that includes the River House Mojito, Mystic Malbec Martini and the MRH Mediterranean Margarita.

Battery Gardens
If you are looking at drinking in Battery Park with views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island views then this is your place. They have a couple of Prix Fixe menus and a beer garden that features draft beers by Victory Brewing Company that can be purchased by the glass or by the pitcher. They also have a large selection of food.

The River Café
This place is a newly renovated with views of the New York skyline and Statue of Liberty. They serve a classic New American menu with an amazing wine list and a romantic piano music nightly. You should be aware that they do have a dress code, so if you are heading there make sure that you are wearing a jacket and ties and collared shirts are preferred.

This tri-level seafood shack serves fresh fish entrees along side their specialty cocktails like the Anker (Greenhook Gin, Oreat Syrup, fresh lime juice, splash of lemon/lime soda. They also have a number of beers both on tap and in can/bottle. If you are looking for something tropical then you can try one of their Frozen drinks or bowls. Technically the restaurant is located a block or two off of the water, but who is counting.
