Drop Off Service Owners Bringing Craft Beer Bar to Kips Bay

Kips Bay just got a whole lot cooler. That’s because a craft beer bar called Albion opens this week in the formerly hospitality-unfriendly ‘hood from the husband and wife team behind the East Village’s Drop Off Service.

Boasting a conservatory, fireplace and garden (!!), Albion will specialize in craft beer from Europe and America with a rotating lineup of 30 beers on tap, including Denmark’s Evil Twin and Mikkeller breweries and Norway’s Nøgne Ø, as well as a selection of beers from New York and the Midwest.

“This place will open up a whole new world of beer,” owner Martin Kynaston told DNA Info.

With a bar in the front room and a garden out back, the 1,500-square foot space is the latest project from Martin and his wife, Laura.

“We decided to open our second place and specialize in craft beer because of our love for beer,” Mr. Kynaston continues. “We’re beer drinkers.”

Albion – located at 575 Second Avenue, at 32nd Street – opens tomorrow, serving beer, wine and cocktails, and will eventually serve food.
