The West Village just got another cozy craft cocktail spot now that Due West has taken over the former Diablo Royale space. Once a raucous hangout with tacos and tequila, Due West has moved into the West 10th Street space and elevated the cocktail game.
There are blends like the Orchard Street with vodka, pear brandy, ginger, apple and house cranberry bitters, the DW Sour with Fords gin, tangerine, tamarind, lemon and egg white, and the Old Diablo – paying homage to the former tenants – with mezcal, tequila, Pilsner, house-spiced grenadine, lime and charred citrus salt.
Want something on draft? The Village Manhattan – Due West’s riff on the classic – or the Green Witch made with Greenhook gin, Absinthe, pamplemousse, saffron and toasted rosemary will do the trick.
There are also bottled cocktails including the Agri-Cola, with Rhum Clement Select Barrel, house cola and citrus or the Paloma made with Bribon tequila, salted grapefruit and fizz.
Those looking to take things into their own hands will love the Make Your Own Old Fashioned option. Pick your spirit – rye, mezcal or American brandy, sugar type and bitters variety and sip away.
Also check out the large format drinks, wine and beer selection and the light bites, including oysters, kanpachi crudo and marinated olives.
Now go west, everyone.
