One of the few bright spots of the pandemics is that we have been able to obtain access to a wealth of education virtually, and sometimes … for FREE! When Camp Runamok announced that applications would be open for their Spring 2021 Executive American Whiskey Steward Certification program, that it would be completely virtual AND that thanks to their generous sponsors, FREE, we wanted to help spread the word. So HURRY and sign up as capacity for the program is limited to 50 people in order to keep the classes intimate and everyone gets one on one time with the educators – Moonshine U and Brown Forman (including Jackie Zykan-Old Forester’s Master Taster, Elizabeth McCall-Woodford Reserve Assistant Master Distiller, and Chris Fletcher-Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller). There is no better time for hospitality industry professionals to build their resume, expand their knowledge and push themselves creatively. This program endeavors to offer bartenders the opportunity to do all three at once while getting access to Master Distillers, Educators and Tasters from Brown Forman’s heritage brands like Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve and Old Forester.
Since we aren’t yet able to host Camp Runamok, my team and I were looking for ways to continue educating bartenders about American Whiskey, and we could think of no better partners to help us provide continued education to bartenders around the country. We are so excited to be able to offer this program for another round of classes, which will include public facing classes on our Facebook Live channel (facebook.com/CampRunamok or Facebook.com/PDXCW) which are open to anyone interested in taking a deep dive on American Whiskey as taught by the experts who make it along with private workshops provided by Moonshine University. These workshops give our participants the highest level of American Whiskey education from a trusted source.
We ran this program once last Fall for our Camp Runamok Alumni, and we were so impressed with the level of participation, thoughtful conversation and true learning in practice from our attendees. I can’t wait to see what the Spring 2021 Class brings to this program.
