On Miami Beach, Byblos is named after an ancient Mediterranean seaport city, which was located north of present-day Beirut. The glamorously chic, Byzantine-décored restaurant and lounge offers spectacularly exotic cocktails to enjoy with its excellent Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Both the cocktail and food menus are strongly influenced by traditional Turkish and Lebanese flavors as well as local Miami ingredients.
From signature cocktails to cold spiked teas, here’s what to sip on luxuriously at Byblos Miami:
Byblos Miami Signature Cocktails
Nightingale Sour
A frothy and zesty cocktail shaken with Peach-infused Absolut vodka, Lillet Blanc, Galliano and lemon; and served up in a coupe glass.
Ottoman Cartel
A sweet, yet tart drink with a bit of spice made with Avion Silver tequila, spiced barberry reduction and carbonated beet juice; and served long with edible marigold flowers and lime.
Marrakesh Garden
For this crisp and refreshing drink, you are given the option of Bombay Dry gin or Bacardi rum (we went with gin); mixed with cold-pressed cucumber and celery juice, fresh mint and lime; and served long and garnished with nigella seeds.
Byblos Old Fashioned
A flavor-rich and potent cocktail made Bulleit bourbon, stolen rum, bitters & house blended sweet Turkish coffee; and served over a perfect cube of ice
Byblos Gin & Tonic
This excellent G&T was an unexpected surprise; Tanqueray No. 10 gin and Mediterranean tonic mixed in with dehydrated whole lime, mint blossom, grapefruit, and cinnamon stick.
Byblos Miami Cold Tea Service
The spiked cold tea cocktail service arrives in grand style to serve two or four persons from a gorgeous Eastern Mediterranean teapot; which serves two or four persons.
Habibi Marguerite
A Mediterranean take on the classic margarita, made with chili-spiced strawberry tea, cilantro, lime and Avion reposado tequila. spicy fresco chili, strawberries and cilantro.
Edgeware Road
My favorite; Moroccan mint tea spiked with Beefeater gin, with mate, lemon verbena and lavender; and served with a dish of Turkish delights.
The Food at Byblos
Do indulge on Byblos enticing culinary delicacies. Make sure to order a dish of Marcona almonds, tossed with lime and paprika, while choosing your mezze, a selection of small dishes.
Our recommendations include the Hamachi, -with jalapeño labneh (Greek yogurt), sweet red onion, cucumber and lime, and Eggplant Kibbeh, – zucchini flowers stuffed with eggplant, then, dipped in delicate chickpea batter, and served with house yogurt sauce.
There is also a variety of wood-fired Turkish flatbread pizzas, called pide [pee-day], such as the Black Truffle topped with buffalo mozzarella and halloumi cheeses and tartufata (Italian sauce of summer truffles, mushrooms and black olives).
