Fausto Opens in Park Slope with Beverages By L’Artusi Co-Founder Joe Campanale

Park Slope just got a little more delicious, thanks to the opening of Fausto. Located in the former Franny’s space, Fausto features drinks by Joe Campanale – co-founder of West Village Italian spots L’Artusi, dell’anima and Anfora and the man behind Annona wines – along with a menu by former L’Artusi Executive Chef Erin Shambura.

The seasonal menu features bites including Shrimp Crudo, Cured Sardines and a variety of housemade pastas like Tortelloni filled with sweet potato and parsnip in a butter sauce with sage, nutmeg and toasted walnuts, Fusilli in tomato ragu with basil and parmesan and Linguine with little neck clams and pork sausage.

Taking cues from the menu, Campanale’s beverage offerings include wines with a focus on unique, artisan varietals (think: producers who harvest the grapes by hand) and organic and biodynamic pours. The wine list also features rare bottles from Italian wine critic Luigi Veronelli’s cellar, one of only a few places in the city with these coveted bottles.

The cocktails were also created by Campanale, with a strong focus on Italian spirits. Standouts include the Coppi Cup, with Greenhook Old Tom gin, rapa ciliegie and bitters, the Amarcord with Contratto bitter, Caffo bitter, Argala bitter, tonic and Prosecco and the Faustian Bargain with scotch, blood orange, Vermouth Bianco, Argala bitter and orange bitters.

Prepare to eat and drink well at Fausto.
