Winter is still holding on strong in New York, so this week, we head to Forrest Point in Bushwick for the Fuzzy Sweater cocktail. This hot coffee and mezcal-based drink is a boozy hug for your cold bones.
Created by Co-Bar Director, Shantel Grant, the drink was designed to capture the essence of cozying up at your favorite local winter vibe.
“Teylor Smirl (Co-Bar Director) and I were trying to decide on a design for an Irish coffee,” explains Grant. “I had expressed that I wanted to make an Irish Coffee with Mezcal and Teylor said to me that she was thinking of reprising our old Bailey’s recipe for the Irish Coffee we wanted to put on the menu. Five years ago we used to work at a coffee shop/bar together and it was there where we both started our initial curiosity into the spirits world. The Fuzzy Sweater namesake comes from how hot coffee warms your insides in the winter.”
