Happy Tequila Day!

Happy Tequila Day! Me encanta el tequila, that strong, lovely, complex  of mine.  The blue agave plant based distilled spirit is the national spirit of Mexico and is considered North America’s oldest distilled beverage.  Enter any bar around the country and it is clear that the U.S. has a serious love affair with tequila as sales topped 13 million cases last year. Whether you take it neat, on the rocks, in a shot or in a salted margarita, tequila is such an incredible spirit and deserves exploration, discovery, and a national holiday.

So whether you like blanco, reposado, or añejo, we urge you to go out and trust your bartender to introduce you a tequila you’ve never tried today … try toasting with some of our favs Clase Azul, Fortaleza, Milagro, Casa Noble, Olmeca Altos, Casa Dragones, Casamigos, Ocho … aye dios mio, we can keep going all day!

Some wise words on tequila from two very, very talented bar-friends who truly knows their way around the tequila category … “You should respect tequila, don’t abuse it. Make it spiritual as it takes a lot of love to make it.” Dominic Venegas (The NoMad & Nitecap)

“Tequila is Mexico’s ambassador to the world …” says Gaston Martinez (West Coast Milagro Tequila Ambassador)
