An Inside Look at the ‘Magic Mike Live’ Cocktail Program in Las Vegas

“When you come to Magic Mike Live, you are transported into a fully immersive experience that transcends the show you’re watching,” said Ricky Lyn, who was tasked to develop the cocktail program. “I approached making the cocktails as a synergy that matches the immersion of your experience. Like a playlist, every cocktail is crafted to be its own single, capturing a moment in the show, intertwined through taste.”

Using Singani 63, a spirit brand owned by Steven Soderbergh (director of Magic Mike and Magic Mike’s Last Dance), Lyn came up with the perfect menu. “Singani 63 is a spirit that evokes an emotional connection, and I knew immediately when I first tried it that it was something I could create stories with,” he said.

The specialty cocktails include Unicorn, Permission, Candy Shop, Special Delivery, Serenade, and Anywhere.

Unicorn, which is the “safe word” in the show, is one of the most popular drinks on the menu. “The flavors are bright with orange blossom, pineapple, and peach,” Lyn said. “The sparkling wine makes this cocktail fun and provokes you to order another especially since you get to keep the souvenir cup.” A key feature is the electric dust garnish, created by Mariena Mercer Boarini, an acclaimed Las Vegas mixologist.

Permission brings the floral elements of the agave and embraces it with elderflower and lychee. “The cucumber is the garnish and acts as the green light, with a subtle oil and fragrance to bring the symphony together.” In this drink, Singani63 embraces the attributes of the terroir and beauty of Casamigos Blanco Tequila.

Candy Shop was one of the first concepts created. “With Candy Shop it was important to incorporate the idea of candy, but make it feel sophisticated and fun,” Lyn said. “The whiskey brings the masculine feel, while Singani 63 showcases the floral and fruit.” The drink also uses grapefruit liqueur with strawberry and a rock candy straw garnish that you can eat or use to stir your cocktail.

Special Delivery draws inspiration from a romantic moment in the show where cast members give out long-stemmed roses and make it rain rose petals from the sky. “This beautiful moment deserved a beautiful flavor profile of botanicals and subtle flavors of complementary citrus fruit and rose.”

Other cocktails include Serenade, a tropical sangria with layers of vibrant flavors, and Anywhere, a unique take on an espresso martini. Non-alcoholic options include Suavemente, which captures a medley of rose and strawberry with a light effervescence, and Nice & Slow, a drink that is similar to a Mojito and available in flavors such as mango, passionfruit, or pineapple.
