Like it or not, winter is still in full effect. And what better way to warm up than with a nice boozy Hot Buttered Rum?
The Love in Philadelphia – opened by Stephen Starr and partner Aimee Olexy, just steps from Rittenhouse Square – is serving up a yummy version of this “liquid dessert,” made with rum, whole milk and a special Hot Buttered Rum batter concocted with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, allspice, nutmeg and vanilla ice cream.
“There’s something special about the communal drinking that occurs during the holidays and I wanted to bring that sense of nostalgia and comfort to our guests at The Love year round,” explains Jorgen Eriksen, Head Bartender at The Love and the cocktail’s creator. “To me there’s nothing like finishing a big meal with boozy dessert drink when it’s cold outside.”
