KAABOO Cayman Debuts with Caribbean-Inspired Drinks, Dishes – and Major Musical Talent

It’s almost time for the first ever KAABOO Cayman festival, a weekend of music, art and comedy combined with world-class drinks, food and culinary demonstrations. Taking notes from the original KAABOO Del Mar in Southern California – which has hosted such starpower as Pink, Katy Perry, the Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Halsey and so many more – this 2-day experience is set to debut in the Caribbean Island of Grand Cayman on February 15 and 16.

What to expect? Performances by The Chainsmokers, Duran Duran, The Counting Crows, Zedd, Shaggy, Blondie and a variety of others, along with comedy from Wanda Sykes, Darrell Hammond and Norm McDonald.

But we are most excited for the food and drinks, which are much more than your average fest fare. Expect dishes – and demonstrations – from culinary stars like Michael Mina, Richard Blaise, Nina Compton and Michelle Bernstein, along with a serious selection of cocktails.

“The beverage program represents the best of the Cayman Islands and Caribbean at large,” explains Jason Felts, KAABOO Partner & Chief Brand Officer. “The drinks will be fun and flavorful, and well thought out – creativity at it’s finest!”

Felts continues: “There will be specialty cocktails across the show, you can find different ones all over. Check out our high-end food and beverage venue, PALATE, for boutique liquors and special wines, spirits, and beers on island.”

And while the big international names will certainly be a hit at KAABOO Cayman, the local restaurants will have a chance to showcase their signature dishes, already beloved on the island.

“PALATE restaurants all created special menus for KAABOO Cayman – exclusive dishes to our event! Grand Old House is serving a special Beef Short Ribs, with porcini mushrooms & brie cheese,” Felts says. “Their dessert is not to be missed – banana sticky toffee pudding. Bar Crudo is serving a hoisian glaze pulled pork burger. Agave is bringing their Mexican fare to the show – you can try their ceviche and a few types of tacos as well.”
