L.A. Cocktails Inspired by the 2019 Oscar Best Picture Nominees

While the 91 Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Feb. 24, not everyone in the city can score a ticket. That doesn’t stop Los Angelenos from going all out for the movie industry’s biggest night. Inspired by the year’s best films, many bars around Tinseltown are offering up special Oscar-themed cocktails.

Following an incredibly successful menu launch last year, Dan Rook, the bar manager at Ever Bar in Hollywood has once again to create a perfectly-themed cocktail menu for this year’s Academy Awards. Double Take, Westwood’s film-inspired restaurant is also getting into the award season spirit creating cocktails from favorite films including “Black Panther” and “Crazy Rich Asians.”

Over at Loews Hollywood Hotel and Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel are enticing locals, travelers and film enthusiasts alike with an Oscar cocktail menu. Drawing inspiration from the Best Picture nominees, Loews mixologists have fashioned eight original cocktails concocted with premium spirits and unexpected ingredients. Perfect for enjoying during the Oscars broadcast, the cocktails, priced at $15 each, will also be available the week before and after through Sunday, March 3.

Viviane, the poolside restaurant at the Avalon Beverly Hills, is embracing its Old Hollywood history, with a limited-run menu of awards season cocktails, available now until Oscars Sunday. Cocktails are inspired by and named after nominated films including “A Star Is Born,” “Roma” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Viviane and the Avalon Beverly Hills have longstanding ties to the film industry, including serving as a hangout for stars like Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe.

In honor of each every Best Picture nominee, check out these award-winning L.A.-based cocktails below and, in the comments, vote for your fav!
