Liquiteria Juice Cleanse: Surviving 3-Days on Liquids Only

There never seems to be a convenient time for a juice cleanse. Drinks and dinners out with friends – life just happens to get in the way. Add to that the fear of not chewing and overall skepticism of the benefits, and now you have all my excuses.

I regularly drink juices from Liquiteria – all greens with apple is my favorite and my after yoga treat. After a bit of consideration, I finally committed to the three-day Level One: Explore and Nourish Liquiteria cleanse. The juices are cold pressed, a method that yields a nutritionally dense outcome. I did not know what to expect: How I would feel? Would I have energy? How hungry would I be? My roommate also did the cleanse at the same time, so it was nice to have each other for support.

The Juice Cleanse

It all starts when you go to pick up the first two days worth of juices. Level One consists of the following:

  • One – All Greens (Kale, Spinach, Romaine, Parsley, Celery, Cucumber.)
  • Two – All Greens with apple.
  • One – Skin Trip, made with Parsley, Spinach, Cucumber, Carrots, Liver Kidney Lymph Detox and Aloe Vera.
  • One –  Beets Me – a tasty blend of Carrot, Beet, Apple, Pear, Lemon, and Ginger.
  • One –  pineapple and pear based Royal Flush – with the final juices mimicking dessert at the end of the day.

At your consultation, the cleansing coach provides you with helpful tips like how much water to drink, what you can and can’t have and do, and when to consume each juice. The coach is knowledgeable and incredibly nice, too. Before doing a cleanse, you might want to ask associates like Nephrology & Hypertension Medical Associates, especially if you’re trying a kidney detox.

Day 1

Waking up on the first day, the hardest part was breaking the usual morning routine. No coffee (my roommate struggled with this) or the usual breakfast, regular habits can be hard to break. The All Greens is the least sweet, and arguably best for you, and I am glad it was the first juice. It’s a strange feeling, but the day goes by pretty fast when it is broken up into 2-hour increments. I already had a love for the All Greens with apple, but enjoyed the Beets Me and Royal Flush- although the ginger was a little overwhelming for my taste. I found the Skin Trip to be the most filling.

Day 2

Despite not being hungry, the monotony of only consuming liquids starts to order phentermine online toll toward the end of the second day. I started to get bored of not just drinking, but also the lack of variety since I had the same six juices the previous day.

Day 3

Last day and light at the end of the tunnel! At this point, my body became conditioned to the routine. I knew I would be having juices all day and did not have to remind myself. After finishing the last juice of the day, I felt a sense of accomplishment. A small part of me wanted to treat myself to a morsel of food as a prize, but I knew that opportunity would come soon enough in the morning.

Day After

I could chew my food! I enjoyed my granola with soy milk for breakfast, but my usual ravenous pace slowed down. I ate my typical healthy food, but by dinner, I lost my appetite and had a hard time eating my quinoa salad. I think my stomach shrunk, but I welcome the return of a physical sense of portion control that I lost so long ago.

Conclusion

I am happy I did the cleanse, but I do not see myself doing a multi-day one again. It reminded me of the importance of drinking lots of water and not eating when I am bored. I am grateful I am a pretty clean eater with a diet of minimally processed, nutritionally dense organic food and I am sure that made the process easier. If anything, the experience tested my willpower. If I did not benefit physically, it’s at least a mental test of determination.

    Hi,
Thank you for this post. Despite how hard it seems, I’m considering doing this cleanse. It’s definitely impressive that you dropped 6 pounds in those 3 days! I was just wondering if you looked any different afterwards, like maybe a flatter stomach or something like that? Those are the kinds of results I’m looking for. And this might be too personal, but did those results stay? Did those 6 pounds come right back or were you in a more health-oriented mindset afterwards?

    Thanks!
