Guide to Long Island Fall Harvest 2019

The end of summer does not by any means equal a lack of Hamptons and North Fork adventures.  For so many, the fall harvest events highlight the true charm and culture that Long Island offers visitors and residents alike. While the beaches may lack their normal number sun worshippers, the vineyards and wineries become hot spots for oenophiles who want to enjoy the terroir amongst the spectacular rose-colored East End sunsets we all love.

For Fall 2019, there is no shortage of events and happenings to keep Long Island lovers busy the entire season long. These are some of our favorite events to raise a glass amongst the vines and learn about the talented teams involved with grape growing on the East End of Long Island.

Sparkling Pointe

Celebrate Sparkling Pointe’s portfolio of Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Wines this 2019 Harvest season on Sunday, September 22nd from 5:00pm-8:00pm.  Sparkling Pointe will be celebrating the harvest season at their Tasting House in Southold by hosting their Vintner’s Harvest Dinner. The event will feature an opening wine reception and seated wine pairing dinner on the great lawn with stunning vineyard views. Catering by La Plage Restaurant of Wading River. The Lenz Winery 

Join Lenz, one of the founding vineyards on celebrate the 2019 Harvest on Saturday, September 28th from 3pm – 6pm where wine club members and the public will be able to learn more about the vineyards history, harvest, crop and the award winning meticulous winemaking process that has helped develop the Long Island wine region. The event will finish with a dinner out on the Crush Pad where guests will enjoy the notable Lenz wines under the North Fork sunset. Wolffer Estate Vineyard 

Laugh, play and celebrate with family and friends the hard work of Harvest season at Wolffer while enjoying the beauty the vineyard for their annual grape harvest, taking place on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 12:00pm – 4:30pm. Dance to live music, enjoy local dishes, sip Wölffer wines and ciders, partake in barrel-rolling, grape-stomping, a wine-making relay race, pony rides, a petting zoo, hay rides, and more! Lieb Cellars

Come join Lieb Cellars and the passionate #teamlieb! on Sunday October 13th from 12pm-3pm for their 13th Annual Harvest Party where visitors will be able to enjoy special flights of both pressed grape juice and finished estate-grown sustainable wines from their 2019 harvest. Macari

Celebrate the pruning, harvesting, spreading compost and biodynamic preparations involved in the viticulture at Macari on Sunday, October 19th at 6:30pm for their Private Macari Wine Club dinner celebrating the 2019 harvest.
