An intimate and elegant cocktail bar accented by extraordinary works of original, museum-quality artwork, the BG Lounge is now bringing an unparalleled cocktail menu created by Chief Mixologist, Asadour Seheldjian. Born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, Seheldjian had a curious personality, which often put him on the front lines of social gatherings, engaging with friends and family and planning his next travel adventure.
These interests served as the foundation of his mixology career. At the age of 28, Asadour and his family were forced to escape and flee from the Syrian civil war, seeking refuge in Turkey in search of a better life. A few months into his new life in the Turkish city of Izmir, Asadour was hired as General Manager at a boutique hotel in Izmir Province. It was here where he refined his knowledge of American cocktail culture by shaping a completely unique and personal craft bar experience for his guests. With a desire to keep fueling the passion for his new love of mixology, Seheldjian immigrated to the United States in 2014, moving to Los Angeles to enroll in Bartending School. Craving more behind-the-bar action and interaction with guests, he started working at The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills and he quickly made his way up the ranks to Head Bartender at the on-property Italian restaurant Culina.
Now at BG Lounge, he has created an unparalleled menu featuring the freshest ingredients of the season paired with high-end spirits in signature artisanal cocktails. Guests can experience new cocktails such as Rosas El Jalisco with El Tesoro Reposado Tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, homemade rose simple syrup, fresh lime juice and thyme; as well as the Not an Aviation featuring butterfly pea flower infused Amass Gin, Centerba torella, Italicus, fresh lemon juice and rosemary.
Other standouts include the Pink Braier made with Redemption Rye Whiskey, honey, fresh lemon juice, berries; the Mint Rasputin made with Black Leopard Siberian Vodka, blood orange, apple & cranberry shrub, fresh lime juice and sage; the Strawberry Don Corleone made with Monkey Shoulder Blend Scotch, Lazzaroni Amaretto, homemade cinnamon syrup, lemon juice and Centerba and the Mare e Monti made with Atlantico Rum Reserva, Cardamaro Vino Amaro, fresh lime juice, homemade simple syrup, Angostura and cardamom bitters.
In addition to BG Lounge’s signature libations, guests will find classic cocktails made with craft products and using special techniques. Examples include the Penicillin made with Monkey Shoulder, honey, homemade ginger syrup, fresh lemon juice and Laphroaig; the Traditional Mezcal of Nuestra Soledad Artesian Mezcal, served in a traditional clay mezcal cup with orange slices and gusano salt; the Dark Forest with Dos Armadillos Reposado Tequila, Rhubarb Liquor, fresh lime juice, agave syrup and orange bitters and, coming soon, Ozzy’s Sazerac (in the aging process) with Woodford Rye Reserve, Calvados, St. George Absinth and Peychaud’s bitters.
A thoughtfully curated modern Southern Italian shared-plates menu by Executive Chef Michele Lisi complements the cocktails and quality Italian wine selection, all of which is served in the perfectly appointed contemporary, plush space that feels like the living room.
