Matcha Margarita at 1 Beach Club in Miami Beach

In a nod to the recently observed Earth Day, the newly opened 1 Beach Club at the 1 Hotel South Beach will debut their newest signature cocktail – Matcha Margarita.  Miami’s chic 1 Beach Club is a secluded and sustainability-conscious oasis, just steps from the ocean. The 50,000-square-foot retreat is also home to Wave, an alfresco sea-to-table restaurant featuring a massive, thatched-roof bar.

“The inspiration behind the Matcha Margarita was Earth Month. I used a typical tea plant that is used to produce matcha that can live for a half-century or more, making it one of the most sustainable and environmental food crops in existence. Compared with most other kinds of crops, tea can be among the most earth-friendly of all. We then use a vegan, earth friendly foaming agent vs egg white, which causes less stress on the environment and top off the cocktail with a high quality Japanese Matcha green tea powder. All ingredients are extremely earth-friendly making this the ideal cocktail to celebrate Earth Month,” says Steven Minor, Director of Beverage for Wave at 1 Beach Club.
