Mezcal Irish Coffee at The Corner Door

Just because the seasons are changing doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a nice warm beverage every once in a while. Enter the Mezcal Irish Coffee by bartender Beau du Bois at The Corner Door, a flavorful and boozy blend of mezcal, cardamon-infused coffee and orange cordial – simple yet potently delicious.

“The cocktail is built off of the notes of the spirit itself – cinnamon, tamarind, cocoa, orange, baked and spiced,” du Bois tells Thirsty. “I went to the El Silencio palenque and remembered how the roasted agave smelled there during the fermentation stage. It’s the smell that is influenced by the natural fermentation process. It is not a mezcal in the costume of an Irish coffee. Mezcal is a great spirit, the character develops based on how it wants to be with little disruption.”
