Anyone familiar with the New York cocktail scene has most certainly encountered Ms. Franky Marshall. The former Vice President of the USBG of New York, she’s been behind the bar at some of the City’s most legendary spots, including on the opening staff at Clover Club and The Dead Rabbit, at the revamped Holiday Cocktail Lounge and, most recently, as Beverage Director for Le Boudoir, a Marie Antoinette-inspired spot in Brooklyn Heights.
And while Ms. Franky’s knowledge about all things drinks is certainly extensive, her passion is cognac.
“Cognac for me is, it’s become a very big part of my life,” Ms. Franky explains. “It’s afforded me so many great opportunities, whether it’s travel, meeting new people or just exploring the category itself.”
To Ms. Franky, cognac is a perfect fit for “such a city of creativity and artistry” as New York.
“I don’t want to talk about how you can drink cognac, you know, on the Brooklyn Bridge or walking the streets,” Marshall quips, adding, “but you could.”
