There’s a new tavern in town – The Gray Mare has opened in the former Dempsey’s space in the East Village. This new watering hole – from the team behind Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen and Slainte Bar & Lounge on Bowery – has a cocktail program featuring classics as well as specialty drinks, including the Native Dancer, a riff on the classic margarita with lime, mint and yellow chartreuse, and The Outsider, a blend of mezcal, cognac and sherry.

Looking for cocktails on tap? The Gray Mare will be serving a Rye Old Fashioned and a Mezcal Negroni, as well as a variety of craft beers.

The menu includes tavern fare and shareable plates, including Deviled Eggs, Tempura Green Beans and Mushroom Toast as well as a LaFrieda blend GM burger and Mac and Cheese.

The Gray Mare The Outside

The Gray Mare will be showing all of the NFL and Premiere League football games, and DJs will spin on weekends. And while it’s chilly out now, the patio will be the ultimate spot for people watching and drinking al fresco once the weather warms up again.
