NYC Beer Week: More events for beer lovers

NYC Beer Week kicked off with an opening event at Grand Central Station on Friday night and continued with suds-centric parties all weekend. But the fun continues until March 2 – and we have a list of more Beer Week events and participating bars for all the lager-lovers out there, from our friends at Gothamist and EV Eats. Now, get drinking!

Tuesday, February 25th

Beer Dinner with Other Half at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

There will be beer. And there will be a whole pig. The Other Half Brewing Company is teaming up with Dinosaur Bar-B-Que for this event which will showcase the brewery’s Doug Cascadian Dark Ale and their mighty 11% ABV Imperial Stout. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 604 Union Street, Brooklyn, $50.

Dogfish Head Tap Takeover

Dogfish Head fans: the beloved brewery will be hosting a Tap Takeover at the Pony Bar in Hell’s Kitchen, featuring 20 different draft beers and free samples of a special Dogfish Head R&D beer. The list of draft beers being highlighted by Head Brewmaster Tim Hawn includes Chicory Stout, Black & Blue, Piercing Pilsner, and Miles Davis Bitches Brew among many others. Thursday February 27th

NY Beer Night and Book Signing With Beer Union

As the week of beer drinking comes to a close, East Village bar Jimmy’s No. 43 will be hosting a beer tasting and book signing with the authors of Beer Lover’s New York: The Empire State’s Best Breweries, with Brooklyn’s own Kelso Beer Co. providing a red rye IPA. Saturday, March 1st

Back to the Future With Peekskill Brewery, Captain Lawrence, and Shmaltz

Beer purists, this one is for you. Now here’s an event for the real beer purist. Park Slope’s Fourth Avenue Pub will host three of the most dynamic breweries – Peekskill Brewery, Captain Lawrence and Shmaltz – for an unforgettable night. Enjoy Shmaltz’s anniversary ale Jewbelation REBORN and Geektoberfest, a collaboration from all three breweries. Additional drafts will include: Ithaca Brute 2011, Peekskill Vaporizer and Shmaltz He’Brew Genesis Dry-Hopped Session Ale. Fourth Avenue Pub, 76 Fourth Avenue, Brooklyn, 4 p.m., FREE.
