The Tahona Society, presented by Altos Tequila, recently concluded its third edition in Guadalajara, Mexico. This event has become one of the most influential bartender competitions globally, focusing on sustainability and social welfare within the beverage industry. For this edition, bartenders worldwide were invited to submit their sustainable and welfare-focused business ideas. Twelve finalists were selected to present their concepts at the Tahona Society Competition Global Final in Guadalajara from June 26th-29th. The winning project, Green Apple: Zero Glass Waste Cartagena, hailing from Cartagena, Colombia, was awarded $50,000 to fund their initiative. The project, led by Jenny Teasdale and Jeffrey Garcia, aims to improve glass recycling in Cartagena, create local jobs, and encourage sustainable practices in bars across the city.
