Drink This Now: Santa’s Little Cider At Sleyenda Holiday Pop-Up

The holiday season in New York City has become even more magical the past few years as festive pop-up bars have become a beloved trend to help deck the halls with cheer.  One of our favorites is the Sleyenda pop-up at Leyenda in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Created by Tom Lacy, Partner at Leyenda, he gives some background on the drink, “My goal was something that’s as satisfying as a classic hot spiked cider with baking spices, but with a little more complexity.

The particular earthiness of the Isastegi cider, gives the drink a feel of a apple orchard, rather than just cooked cider. Sherry provides some nuttiness and which is reinforced by the Torres (15) which has a mellow character that’s still complex and not too sweet. Torres also provides the drink with some much needed backbone.”

Sleyenda will be open through December 31, 2018 and you can sip this with the pride of knowing that $1 from every Sleyenda cocktail sold to benefit the following charities: Global Fund for Women, New York Women’s Foundation, Outsmart NYC, and Me Too Movement.
