Schramsberg Wine Dinner At L’Apicio, Bloody Mary Bar at Taproom No. 307

LOWER EAST SIDE: Beauty & Essex is hosting a weekly LGBT party dubbed “Upstairs” in the second floor lounge on Monday nights from 8 p.m. until midnight, with speciality cocktails (we love the O.D.B. – the “Old Dirty Bramble” – with Don Julio Reposado tequila, smoked blackberries, honey, ginger juice and lemon) and DJs.

MIDTOWN: On May 21, Má Pêche will host their 2014 Besties guest-bartending series with Jeff Bell from PDT and Momofuku‘s John Debary where $1 from each cocktail will go to benefit City Harvest.

EAST VILLAGE: L’Apicio hosts a four-course pairing dinner with Schramsberg Sparkling wines on Wednesday, June 11 where Hugh Davies, the head of Schramsberg Vineyards and J. Davies Vineyards, will entertain guests with stories about the family business and why their American sparkling wines have become so popular. The dinner will feature five wines paired with dishes from L’Apicio’s menu. Tickets are $95, available here.

GRAMERCY: Brunchers, take note: Taproom No. 307 has just launched their Bloody Mary bar, including house-infused vodkas (jalapeño, chipotle and their own hops-infused variety) with a choice of toppings like pickled jalapeños and onions, horseradish, celery, olives, cucumbers and a variety of hot sauces from mild to “can’t feel my mouth.”

MIDTOWN On Monday, May 19, Brooklyn Brewery will host a pop-up beer garden at the Summer Garden at Rock Center Cafe where guests will enjoy a two-hour tasting of beer-friendly dishes like Housemade Lamb Sausage paired with specially chosen brews including Sorachi Ale and Summer Ale, and will also receive a voucher for a Brooklyn Pilsner draft once the event concludes. Tickets are $45, available here.

LOWER EAST SIDE: Japanese restaurant Yopparai is now serving the Kamotsuru Tokusei Gold Daiginjo sake that President Obama sipped with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Sukiyabashi Jiro last month. Priced at $21, every bottle features tiny gold cherry blossom leaves at the bottom and if one ends up in your glass, it’s considered good luck!
