Holidays getting you down? Rampant consumerism killing your vibe? Head over to the Office Holiday Popup Bar in Los Angeles. Inspired by everything from “Planes, Trains, & Automobiles” to “The Office,” this Dunder Mifflin holiday miracle has taken over space next to Severance Wine Bar on Melrose Avenue. For one month only, the space has been transformed into a bureaucratic fever dream fueled with plenty of champagne, themed cocktails and holiday fare.
The brilliantly named You’re Drunk Karen is made with champagne, cranberry and ginger syrup, lime and orange bitters. The Episcopalian Christmas, which is served in a flask, is made with clarified milk punch with lavender, sherry, pommeau, lemon and nutmeg. While checking out the authentic Festivus pole, sip on the Office Party’s house eggnog, named the Festivus For The Rest Of Us, featuring three types of sherry and a nutmeg garnish.
A Diehard Holiday is made with Pineau de Charentes, Amontillado Sherry, lemon, Luxardo syrup and a sugar rim. A nod to holiday travels, the Planes, Trains & Automobiles is a six-person punch of dry Lambrusco, grapefruit, and Rinomato Liqueur and served in a suitcase. In addition to a selection of wines, guests can also get any bottle of champagne sabered tableside.
Snacks such as Blue Cheese Fondue, Arancini and Baked Brie and are available to order from Severance’s menu next door. For those with a sweet tooth, indulge in a ton of holiday desserts including Mini Baked Alaska, gourmet ice cream sandwiches, chocolate fondue, French macarons, a chocolate fountain and assorted cookies and cakes.
Guests can also expect classic holiday movies on a 10-foot projection screen, nightly ugly sweater contests and a winter wonderland of tacky office holiday dressings including a crap ton of lights. Trust us, the Party Planning Committee has gone to great lengths to ensure this is the greatest of all office holiday parties.
