Sour T-iesel at Gracias Madre: The Drink You Need on 4/20 Day

This Friday, April 20 is 4/20 day, and what better way to celebrate than with a cannabis-themed cocktail? The Sour T-iesel at Gracias Madre in Los Angeles is what Instagram dreams are made of – and it’s also a delicious mix of tequila blanco, lime, agave, Aquafaba and, of course, CBD oil.

For anyone not familiar, CBD oil is derived from the cannabis leaf and has all sorts of healing properties – including for pain relief and as an anti-inflammatory – without all the weird feelings.

A plant-based Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood, Gracias Madre nails it with the Sour T-iesel.

“This super chilled out sour takes the edge off in more ways than one with the tag team of Cannabinoid and Blanco Tequila, and the herbaceous and refreshing backdrop of matcha, cannabis, and mint,” explains Beverage Director Maxwell Reis.

Sour T-iesel at Gracias Madre recipe

  • 2 oz tequila blanco
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • .5 oz agave
  • .75 oz Aquafaba
  • 3 mint leaves
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 10-15mg of CBD tincture
  • Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder

Add all ingredients but aquafaba and matcha to bar tin. Shake with ice. Fine strain cocktail back into bar tin and add aquafaba. Emulsify with hand blender and hawthorn strain into coup. Garnish the matcha powder through cannabis leaf stencil.
